Zeke Meeks vs the Horrifying TV-Turnoff Week Page 4

  What you need:

a three-feet long piece of yarn

a liquid measuring cup with spout

  a drinking glass

  What you do:

  1. Wet the piece of yarn. Then tie it to the handle of the liquid measuring cup.

  2. Fill the cup approximately two-thirds full of water.

  3. Place the yarn over the spout, then place the loose end in the drinking glass.

  4. Hold the measuring cup about 18 inches from the glass. Using your free hand, pull the yarn tight over the center of the glass.

  5. Slowly pour the water along the yarn. You might spill a little at first, but soon the water will seem to “stick” to the yarn. Then you can pour more quickly.

  6. As you master the trick, you can use a longer piece of yarn, and your trick will be more exciting than ever!

Why it works: Water molecules like to stick together. When you wet the yarn in step one, you make a liquid surface for the water to cling to.
